The Monthly Free Play Draw is run by Vortex Group at Sandbox VR Toronto and Sandbox VR Vancouver. Each month we draw entrants at random to receive a free session. These are the full rules.
No purchase necessary. You can enter without buying anything — see section 4(b). A free entry has exactly the same chance of winning as any other entry.
This contest is sponsored and administered by Vortex Group ("we", "us"), operator of Sandbox VR Toronto and Sandbox VR Vancouver as a franchisee of Sandbox VR. Contact: privacy@sandboxvr.ca.
Each monthly draw covers entries received from 00:00:00 on the first day of the calendar month to 23:59:59 on the last day of that month, local time at the store where the entry was made. The contest runs monthly until we announce that it has ended.
Open to residents of Canada aged 13 or older at the time of entry. Entrants under the age of majority in their province of residence must have the consent of a parent or legal guardian, given through the waiver signed at check-in.
Employees, directors and officers of Vortex Group, and members of their immediate households, are not eligible.
Scan the QR code displayed in-store and complete the survey. You will be asked for your booking code, which we use to confirm the visit. One entry per person per visit — every guest on a booking may enter using that booking's code.
You may enter without visiting or purchasing. Send an email to freeplaydraw@sandboxvr.ca containing:
One free entry per person per calendar month. Free entries are pooled with all other entries and have the same chance of winning. Free entries do not count toward the guarantee in section 6, which requires visits.
Your entries stay live as long as you enter again within two months of your previous entry. Enter again inside that window and your earlier entries are added to the new one, so your total grows with each visit. If more than two months pass without an entry, your total returns to one at your next entry.
If you reach four live entries without having won, your next session is on us — one session for up to six guests at the store where the entries were earned.
Claiming the guarantee uses up every entry recorded against the four bookings that earned it, for every guest on those bookings. Those bookings cannot count toward any further guarantee, for anyone.
A session received free — whether as a draw prize or under the guarantee — enters that month's draw but does not count toward the four entries in section 6, and does not extend the two-month window in section 5.
Entrants who are not drawn in a given month receive, by email, a discount and a free private-room upgrade on their next booking, valid for two months from issue. One offer per entrant per month. Not combinable with another discount code; where you already hold an unexpired rebooking voucher, that voucher applies and the private upgrade is honoured in addition.

Session value varies by experience. Prizes have no cash value and are not transferable or exchangeable. Only one prize per person per monthly draw.
Odds of winning the monthly draw depend on the number of eligible entries received in that month for that store. Every entry has an equal chance of being drawn, including free entries under section 4(b) and entries carried forward under section 5.
Winners are selected at random by a published method that anyone can reproduce and check. It works in three steps.
Because the pool hash is published before the Lotto Max numbers are drawn, we cannot alter the list after seeing the seed; and because the seed comes from a national lottery, we cannot choose it. Each month's pool hash, beacon numbers, seed and result are published at freeplaydraw.sandboxvr.ca along with the winners.
If no Lotto Max draw takes place within seven days of the contest period closing, the seed is taken instead from the first Lotto 6/49 draw held after that seventh day, and the substitution is recorded on the results page.
Selected entrants are notified at the email address submitted with their entry. To be declared a winner, a selected entrant must, within fourteen (14) days, respond and correctly answer a mathematical skill-testing question without assistance.
If a selected entrant cannot be reached, declines the prize, or does not answer correctly within that period, the prize passes to the next entrant on the pre-committed ordered list.
Prizes and guaranteed sessions are redeemable at the issuing store, subject to availability, and expire twelve (12) months from the date of issue. Guaranteed sessions under section 6 are redeemable Sunday to Thursday.
Guaranteed sessions under section 6 are issued in the order earned, up to a monthly limit per store. Where that limit is reached in a given month, remaining guaranteed sessions are issued the following month and remain valid for twelve months from the date they are issued.
We may disqualify any entry we reasonably believe to be fraudulent, duplicated, automated, or made in breach of these rules. We may amend these rules or end the contest where required by law or where circumstances beyond our reasonable control make it necessary; any change will be published on this page.
By entering, you agree to these rules and to the decisions of the sponsor, which are final in all matters relating to the contest.
Information you submit is collected by Vortex Group and used to administer this contest, to contact winners, and — where you have opted in — to send you news and offers.
